Product description
The Synology NAS Expansion Box is designed to expand the capacity of your existing RS18017xs + or FS3017 rack server by adding an additional twelve hot swap SAS / SATA / SSD drives. Up to 7 of these modules can be added. The connection is made using a fast SAS interface.
Once connected, RS18017xs + can be operated with up to 96 disks.
Connecting to Synology FlashStation FS3017 requires the installation of an optional FS3017 expansion card on the host device.
The expansion card for FS3017 is sold separately.
The RX1217sas has a redundant power supply, so it is also suitable for use in demanding operations.
RX1217sas can be operated in connection with the server in two modes:
- extension of the existing volume (scalability)
- another separate volume.
The expansion module also takes over the power control from the parent module, so it automatically switches on and off according to RSxxxx.
